If a documentary has actors in it does it become a fictional film and does fiction become documentary if it includes non-actors perhaps unaware they are in a movie? What kind of film is it if the viewer does not know they are watching actors or they know there are actors in the film but cannot distinguish them from the non-actors? What happens to a documentary or a fiction if you unexpectedly see someone whom you know personally and what does it mean to know a person? One can claim to know a person having just seen them once before or having spent a lifetime with them. In a four minute shot of random individuals walking along a path no one will know all of the people and most will not know anyone but if you do recognize some one in the movie it changes everything. But then who’s to know.
