VELOCITY MADE NOT VERY GOOD – 2015 / 4:33 / HD
In this observational meditation of planes doing what they do, pitch, roll and yaw, we see plenty of movement but we never leave the dock. Velocity, defined as the rate of change of position with respect to time, is comparable to the narrative that normally gives film duration and distinguishes it from a picture. This film has movement but no velocity, perhaps this was meant to be a photograph but the camera apparently just froze the frame but left its contents moving. We are in the movie doldrums; a moving picture that is moving but not going anywhere.
